NO WARNING!
My city of residence where I pay huge property tax
bill every year has NOT been telling the public
anything specific about spay to prevent
mammary cancer when they so very
easily could have been doing all along!
Had they warned me of this in their
annual pet license renewal notices,
my dog very well could be alive NOW!
It takes a ONE LINE sentence to do this!
This is not any result getting amount to motivate
many people. Item at right below
states NO specifics
as to why pets would “enjoy longer healthier
lives!” No mention of unspayed
often means
mammary cancer/uterine infections!
Cancer
is a terrifying word, and few city animal shelters
in all 254 Texas counties are stating this word in
regard to “unspayed;” if they’d so state, more
pet owners would be prompted to ACT and
many valuable lives would be prolonged!
City shelters will say they want to see the
spay rate go up, yet few of them have stated
the specific reason of mammary cancer
avoidance, which if they would so state
in exact terms (and infections too)
would motivate many residents to spay!
EXCEPTIONALLY DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only that, when I went in spring 2008 to pick
my dog up after she climbed the fence, did the
female attendant behind the counter ask
if the dog was spayed? NO! Did she give me
any warning about mammary cancer?
NO!
Yet she had the effrontery to suggest the dog
should be re-homed! So there she is
with
vital lifesaving knowledge, refused to give it
to me, and accused ME of negligence!
Even
after the dog climbed the fence, it still didn’t
occur to me to have her spayed; instead I
thought of fence repellant systems; but
instead went out and waited till she was
ready to come back in the house. I
was
not/am not a “pet professional,” why do
“pet professionals” not warn pet owners
about mammary cancer as a matter of
routine? This assumption that
“everyone knows that” is WRONG!
