Parker photo---no spleen surgery on older pets and maybe not on pets at any age! Risk of bleed out is too high! Consider using lactoferrin and bioflavonoids instead! Lactoferrin to starve cancer of iron for cell division and bioflavonoids to strengthen the vessels to avoid hemorrhage; these are my OPINIONS after reading on the subject. Do your own due diligence. Prevention would be best; consider starting doses of lactoferrin every other day when the pet reaches age three. I brought Parker to an overnight clinic and was talked into major surgery, splenectomy. Parker passed away 92 hours later. He knew he was about to die and he chose a place, VERY noble---Listen to your dog regarding major surgery, he/she might have a message yea or nay about it! While I was looking at X rays of Parker’s spleen and agonizing whether to allow surgery or not, it totally escaped me how Parker acted on the way in their front door! He sat down and put on his brakes as best he could, probably because he smelled or sensed death there! With Parker 43 pounds and me four times his size, I overcame him and brought him in. You must also be able to sense when money alone is someone’s motive, we paid nearly $2,200 to unwittingly shorten Parker’s life. He was a dog at risk, but not a dog dying, until the ill-advised surgery at Airport Freeway Animal Emergency Clinic in Euless Texas --- (if jabbed I can bring up other issues about this “business”) ---
